Does anyone remember this structure?

I don't know where this house design originated, but I seem to remember an HO-scale plastic structure kit from around 1970 that looked exactly like this.

Anybody else remember this?

I searched all over to try to find it. The first thing I thought of when I seen the thumbnail, was the Brady bunch house. I searched Bachmann, lifelike, Plasticville, and Model Power. Could not find this exact house under any of those companies. Where did you acquire the picture? It may help us do a more thorough search.

The Plasticville HO "contemporary house" is probably the closest house to the one in your picture. I actually ran across a book of home plans back in the 70's or 80's that actually had plans for the Plasticville house. The Plasticville design must have been borrowed directly from the architect.
In the 60's and 70's Faller made some small structures of similar design as well, but with a bit more of a European look.
Here's the original box art from the Plasticville house.

Here's what the box artwork with photo looked like in the 70's and 80's.

If you're looking for more of a Brady Bunch house, in the 70's and 80's, Like Like made the "Kramer House" in HO that looked more like the house on the TV show.

Life like also made a smaller Split Level house that was somewhat similar in appearance.

I don't think its in Bachmann's current HO line up, but perhaps they still make it in N. It was never offered in O/S, that I recall(at least from the early 1970's onward). Its possible to find these at 'train shows/swap meets,' plus maybe online, used.

No, it's still avaiable from Bachmann currently. Here's my take on it and the Atlas Kramer House. The later I purchased built up so I only spruced it up and landscaped.

Gary B, thanks for posting the article! Never saw that before-very interesting. Bachmann on the cutting edge in the 1970's. They were the first to come out with a Metroliner in HO, fwiw.

I just located an article I had on the Contemporary Home from a magazine at that time.
I find it interesting how housing size and style has changed through the years. This is advertised as large economy style. The rooms are so small, it has such a linear floor plan, and the design is so enclosed.

Is this it? Plasticville made it. Bachmann owns that line now, i think.

What we did is take some pics from the internet with a few design changes to an architect and he designed the house we're in. What's shown above could easily be done the same way.

Actually, I have seen the obituary of the architect of this house, sorry I don't remember his name. Seems he built thousands of houses and apartments on the east coast. Pretty famous guy. Definitely a little Wright influence. On my railroad as a kid, this was 'my house'.
