I am trying to model this caboose. Are there any manufacturers that make this caboose in plastic? I was told that Athean may have had a really old blue box model of it.

It's an old Southern Rwy caboose. NS has not modified it externally. The bay window doesn't have a divider in the middle, and there are two large square windows near the ends of the car.

The Athearn BB SP style bay window caboose should be pretty close. Walthers also has some Platinum line cabooses with the full length bay windows that would only require getting rid of the middle window post and moving one window.

With some modification, two Model Power versions would combine to make the best looking "foobie" for that car.

the windows on the athearn one are too narrow, and the ladders attach to the top of the roof rather than the bottom/side of it.

The Model Power version looks good, but is too short and the windows aren't clsoe enough to the ends of the car.

Thus why I said earlier that two Model Power versions would create a decent model, using the ends from one, the windows, moved closer to the ends, and some blank sections from the other, and the bay windows from one.

As the prototype is of welded construction, why not built your own. By using either the Athearn or Walthers as a starting point, you could replace the sides with sheet styrene.
