I just bought a details west c44-9w super detail kit. All the parts are metal obviously with some brass parts. Not to sound stupid, but do i use anykind of special glue to hold them on?

Nothing special, just super glue. I'd recommend the LocTite brand that comes in a bottle with a brush. It's easy to control and get exactly the amount you need in the right place. Apply a small amount of super glue to each part you're adding, preferably from the inside of the shell. Anything you can't get to from the inside, use a tiny drop on the outside surface. Any shine will be covered up when you dullcote the shell.

I myself use BSI adhesives Insta-cure+ or Maxi-cure, as it does not fog like straight super glue (i.e. krazy glue) and the LHS's carry it.

so wait a minute, the brass mesh for the top of the radiator do i cut out the plastic or just mount it ot the plastic? i haven't gone thru the instructions yet.

also, are all the grab irons i see by a-line/details west/etc, are they universal? i'de like to get a pack of like 40 so i can use them on teh sd80mac/dash 9, and other models im still trying to finish up.

The mesh can be used various ways, are you talking about the Details Associates see-through grills? The DW kit comes with an etched tread plate for the grill, all you need to do to use this, is file off the old tread bumps from the donor unit, and add the DW plate.

ok i getchya. i'll have to find some small filers if not pickup some inexpensive kit from home depot. im pretty certain i may do the dash 9 in a modern day 6 axle NJ Transit unit.
