You want signs? What era? There is a guy named Ande Rooney who creates reproductions of signs in porcelain. He sells them on Amazon.com under Ande Rooney.. there are a Gazallion different signs. Click on one .. and it opens up with a larger image. Right click and save the image.
There's your sign.
Goto Google Images Search .. enter search .. such as "Railroad Logo" .. find the image you want. If the size in the search results is fine .. then right-click and save. Click the image to goto the source where the image is ofter larger.
I use an old version of Print Shop. Take a sign from anyplace & put it on your puter as a picture & then insert it into your design on a label. I've been doing this to make all my signs for about 15 years. Then I spray them w/a sealer, mount them on a pc. of plastic or wood & wa-la your own free signs.
I do like the newer sign making software though because you can click the scale you want & it does it automatically. But, those programs are usually pretty expensive & I like "Free" better.
