After running a 30 car coal train up and down the helix I noticed that the Broadway Ltd. engines handle the down hill grade much better than the Atlas engines. Broadway engines must have load comensation built in to their decoders. I'm not sure. I found this on the ESU site. One of the features of their LokPilot none sound decoder's is ( Load Compensation - For optimal running especially on uphill and down hill gradients.) I guess Broadway Ltd. has the same. I added a pusher on the end of the Atlas powered coal train not to push but to brake on the down hill grade. I reprogramed the speed table of the pusher a Life Like GP7 to be 5 miles per hour slower than the Atlas engines on the head end. It works. The GP7 is indifferent I would say floating on a level track not pushing or braking.
