Hi All.
I've just converted to DCC. The experience was a whole bunch easier than I imagined.
I have a Bachmann diesel that came with DCC on board. I also have a Proto 1000 that I converted with a basic decoder.
I have found that the Proto 1000 runs a lot faster on the flat than it did before, but it looses a lot on a grade, this problem requires that I be a lot more attentive when setting the speed.
I also have to be more attentive when running two units at the same time, I've had a few minor collisions and derailments, all due to operator error.
I need some help selecting the right decoders for the next two units.
I have a Model Power USRA Pacific 4-6-2 and a Bachmann Spectrum SD 45, I would like to install a decoder with sound in both units.
Although I don't want to go CHEAP and NASTY, cost is an issue, Her Royal Highness holds the purse strings.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Mac
