CVs to swap Functions?

I wired in a decoder by myself (a Digitrax DH123) and because the loco was old and didn't have NMRA color coding, I wired the headlights in backwards (rear headlight would come on going forward, and vice versa).

I tried reversing direction of travel with CV29, but it also swapped the lights which didn't help.

I want to know if I can set certain CVs to swap the F0 and F0R functions without rewiring the lights.

I am not sure if the decoder supports function remapping.

I did a little research on my own, but I am not sure if this will work (I haven't had a chance to try it yet as the loco is down at the model RR club).

CV49 -White Wire - F0 - Default value 0 to come on while travelling forward.
CV50 - Yellow Wire - F0R -Default value 16 to come on while travelling in reverse.

Now, would it work if I swapped the values for the CVs? (CV49 to 16, and CV50 to 0) or would I have to go through the function remapping process (which the decoder may or may not support)?

I don't know much about CVs and which one does what. I don't have a manual that I can take down to the club, so I have to figure this all out before I go. (that will change soon as I am buying a Zephyr to program at home)

To remap the F0 and F0R, I would be changing these CVs, right?

CV33 - default - 1 fwd
CV34 - default - 2 rev

And I would swap these two CVs to remap it rigght?

I know if you just reverse the motor leads every thing should work fine. I made the same mistake myself. I not sure about the CV swaping I'll take a look when I give some free time.

I've done that so many times myself. I like to have my front headlights stay on in all directions (except sideways which is never good).
I did what George suggested on one loco because it was easier than redoing the headlight wires. I know there is a way to reprogram the CV's but some of my locos just won't take the changes for some reason.
Last night I tried to reprogram a loco on the main and wound up reprogramming ALL the locos on the tracks! I'll guess be looking at this again myself.... (waa)

There are 2 ways that can happen, and I've done both of them by accident. If you program with the loco straddling hte gap between the programming track and the main, or if you programmed in ops mode without selecting an address.

I guess I'll just remap F0 and F0R unless someone has an easier solution. I really don't want to open the loco up again.

Hi There.
Changing the defaults of CV's 33 & 34 should work for you.
