We don't bother with railroad crossing signals down here. Seriously. Most of our crossings have a crossbuck and a stop sign. We have three in town that are just the normal flashing signals...but no gates. I think they'll put up a gate if enough people get killed but that's about the only way. We're a tough bunch down here.
