Could somebody post a video of how to install couplers on my tender?

I just bought a beautiful locomotive from mth. The L4b mohawk comes with couplers, but I don't know how to put them together

Could somebody please upload a video of the procedure so I can finally install them?

I am a complete newbie. My older brother was the best, he could do almost anything when it came to trains. But he passed away a few years ago and I miss him terribly.

I checked youtube for videos but none of them were really helpful.

A picture of what you have would be helpful. They look like standard McHenry couplers to me, based on their support and parts page. I doubt that there is a video, but I didn't look since it appears that you already looked. Probably should replace the McHenry with an all-metal Kadee anyway.
Here's what AI has to say about it.

Installing the Tender Coupler
  1. Prepare the Tender: Place the tender upside down on a soft surface.
  2. Assemble the Tender Draft Gear: Insert the coupler into the tender draft gear box. Ensure the trip pin hangs down and the draft gear lid is facing up.
  3. Mount to Tender Chassis: Align the assembled draft gear box on the rear of the tender chassis, with the lip of the draft gear box lid placed against the outside of the rear sill.
  4. Secure the Box: Use the larger screw supplied with the coupler hardware bag to tighten the box into place.
  5. Test and Adjust: Check the coupler height with a Kadee Coupler Height Gauge to ensure it meets NMRA standards. If necessary, use shims to adjust drooping or height. Do not overtighten the screws, as it can strip the plastic draft gear box. [1, 2, 3, 4]

If you're gonna model in HO scale, there are some things (like mounting couplers) that you're just gonna have to figure out for yourself...

You would probably find it very helpful to get some hands-on help. You might want to get involved with a local club or the NMRA.

I agree. If you could take some photos, especially of the underside of the tender, and also the underside of the locomotive just behind the pilot, it would help immensely. Then, we could probably talk you through the installations.

Thanks for your reply. I do not have a phone/camera but my brother does and he is coming over sometime next week.
