I have a few quick questions about cork roadbed. I bought Midwest cork at a train show a little while back. However, I can't get it to curve. The sides aren't beveled, is that my problem? Also, this cork is very wide. Can I trim it up a little on the sides? And the cork is the right hight for a siding, but not the main line. For N scale, what hight of roadbed do I need for a modern mainline?
I believe you need to break the cork down the middle. There should be a 45 degree bevel cut through the center line that will allow the cork to be separated into two pieces. This will provide two separate sides that when butted back to back will provide a beveled edge.
not sure on N, but on HO i just skipped the cork on sidings. That put it at about the right relative height compared to the main.
