Anyhoo, good luck with it!! :D

Chris- You wouldn't happen to have any experience at that job, would you?

Would you have the same boss you use to gripe about?

Anyhow, good luck, I know you need regular work and a paycheck to get your son back under your roof.

Good morning folks

It was 51 F as I headed out this bright morning. Our high will be 75 F.

It has been a couple of crazy weeks. Work has been insane. We have a project that is due by the end of the year and it has been continuing to slip throughout the year. Two weeks ago I had to step in and take personal control of making sure the project met some critical deadlines. This has meant unfortunately stepping on some toes and hurting a few feelings. I have been working overtime and some weekends to straighten the mess out. As of yesterday it looks like we are back on track. I will have to closely monitor the situation until the project is submitted in a couple of months.

Home has also been a flurry of activity. My daughter has been playing volleyball games pretty much every other day. I wish I could report that they are doing well but they have only won one match. Yesterday’s match was the return of the ball hogs. They had been playing well and as a team for the past four games. Even though they had won only once the other three matches were close against better teams and the team looked like it was meshing. Then yesterday the two girls who are problems decided to return to their old ways.

My son was doing great in football. He had made starting defensive end on the 115 pound middle school team. He was excited since all he has wanted to do was play defense. Then yesterday he came home with a swollen and purple finger. We spent the evening in the ER. He broke the finger. Now we have to see a hand specialist. It will take about 4 weeks to heal. Needless to say he is broken hearted that he can’t play.

Then there was my wife’s car. Her Tracker died last week. On my way home from work last Thursday the motor cutoff. I coasted on the shoulder and called for a tow. We found out that the timing belt broke. Unfortunately it got sucked into the motor and destroyed it. So we had to go car shopping. She got a 2010 Kia Sportage.

With everything going on I have no time for trains. I am hoping it will calm down and I can get back to the workbench.

I know I am way behind on the events of the forum. Hopefully I will catch up in the near future.

I hope everybody has a good day

Morning people!

Chris: They are hiring again?!?!?! Hopefully you'll get it!:D:D

Welb, i'm heading off to do a bunch of hd thingees this morning--have a good one:D:D

Good morning everyone.

Rex, thanks for the nice words. It's been wedded bliss all the way!:)

Tom, your world just doesn't slow down.

Chris, good luck with the job interview. I wouldn't go in thinking it's the same job. It's probably more work for less pay. I guess you don't have too many options though. Maybe you could be a greeter for the state. Stand at the border and wave like a lunatic. Maybe they'll turn around and go home! That would help with the swelling population down there.:p

I had a great weekend spent with my wife and family. My sister in law called us Saturday night to see if we wanted to go to the Twins game on Sunday. She had a friend who couldn't use all of the tickets so the four of us went. It certainly was a nice surprise since we had talked about going to another game. We had decided not to because of future financial obligations. This was 'free' so why not. Well, we decided to pay for the gas and parking as well as dinner for this guy. In the end it wasn't exactly free but it was less than if we went ourselves. All it really did was give us an excuse to go!:D

My car is at the shop again to fix a few problems. I never should have talked about how little money I've put into this thing. We're at about 98000 miles so it's breaking like clock work. Nothing is a catastrophic failure, just worn out parts after seven years of driving. I just hope nothing too big happens to this thing. It needs to last me a few more years.

I'm spending the day making trees and ballasting the layout. A nice day to accomplish very few 'real' world projects but tons of miniature world ones.:)

Have a good day everyone.

Chris, if they hire you back, who is the boss going to be?

Corey, sounds like your car is running like a Swiss car...

Not Sure? Won't know until I get the job. More than likely it will be junior, he's the crew leader for the roving crew... the kid is an ass but he shouldn't bother me much.....I scare him! I also got a call from the utility department to for a Ditch Digger I position. I got to that interview next tuesday! We'll see where I'll go!:) But back to the land of the Brownies for me!

Good morning. It's 73 degrees, partly cloudy, with a good chance of it going over 90 again today.

I got a call from my insurance company yesterday. According to them, the person that owns the car that hit me says he doesn't even know the person driving the car, even though they have the same last name and live in the same house. I am not psychic, even though I have ESPN, but I can see myself in court with these clowns.

Good Morning

We are supposedly going to get to 74F today and then 88F tomorrow. With barrels of humidity. We already saw a small monsoonal shower come by here earlier and now we are just plain sticky out.

Welb, I had an interesting day yesterday---Audrey and I went out to a restaurant here in town and promptly got pickled. This was the first time we actually got that much drinking done to actually GET pickled.:eek: But! My bloodsugar still is in the normal range this morning:eek::):)

I'm off to do some work on my house today--before the weather turns any more c**ppier than it is. Have a good one people!!:D:D

Good morning. It's 73 and cloudy. The high will be 92 and it will be partly cloudy.

Later this morning I'll be taking my father's car to the repair shop. Last month he ahd taken it in to have the a/c serviced. It was doing a very good impression of some of the local politicians, blowing hot air that is, and was getting him hot under the collar. Turned out the compressor had to be replaced. The work cost $600 but the a/c worked quite well. Until yesterday that is. He turned on the a/c only to find that it's putting in practice for running for political office again. All he got was hot air and more hot air. He's hoping that he doesn't have to pay a bundle to get it fixed - again.

Noticed the van was running a bit rich this morning. I closed the needle valves up a 1/2 turn each. We'll see what that does. It starts a little faster now. I'm glad most of the anti-pollution stuff that was on it has disappeared over the last 30 years. Makes it easier to work on.

Oh joy! I think I broke my foot again. This makes the 13th or 14th time now. Speaking of things unwanted, there was no rain in the forecast this morning. Now all of a sudden we have a 50% chance and a thunderstorm is moving in.

The humidiididdity here in Central IN is really miserable. must be about 120%. Everytime I try to do sumthin the ole sweat just runns down the ole cr%4@ of my A$$. My tee shirt has been drenched two or three times since noon and I now have sweat runnin down the backs of my ears. Mabe I needs a haircut too it has been 7 weeks since the last un. Oh well as soon as I can git cooled down a little it is out to the shop and start staining the new trim for the kitchen and sanding the baseboard heating covers for a fresh coat of paint.

Well went to the interview!

My old supervisor was glad to see me! I got a 90% chance of getting back in it will depend on Personal and my accident 4 years ago in the county truck that could put a hold on it! But as for the park side of the interview I'm in......Now I wait to see what personal does. The pay is back to start out $10.60hr x 40 a week with bennies! I will be station back at my old park but working with the roving crew! Larry will be my boss and JR. is the crew leader! I'm still going to be a PAII! Thank God.. I'm going to keep 10-12 of my largest yards to do on the weekend which should net me an extra $800-$1000 extra from March-October! Winter will be rough, but I think I will manage! I might be a Brownie G-man again!:DLOL's

That sounds good. That would be $424 a month you didn't have before. As for things being tight, hey, I'm there! I get less than $700 a month and I can't supplement it with work. I hate taking handouts from relatives but sometimes that's the difference between having enough to eat and having gas for the car. I have to make that count and do without a lot of things I would like to have. I wouldn't mind having a good car to get around in but I have to make do with a 30 year wreck of a van that's held together with spit, baling wire and good wishes. At idle it sounds like that Plymouth Fury they used in 'Christine' when she was a POS. At least it doesn't burn or leak oil except for the tiny amount that gets slurped into the air cleaner from spray off the rocker arms. The poor engine has been heavily abused over the years but those old 318's are resilient. I wouldn't mind having a good home either but I have to make do with a 60 year old 25' trailer. I own it so there's no rent. Well I didn't mean to use this as a sounding board but all I'm saying is, no matter how bad you think things may be, there's someone out there who has it worse. At least you can still work. That's a blessing right there. You have a son who loves you. That's more than I have. I've never even been married. Keep on keeping on Chris. You'll make it.
