Good evening gents. I need to go back to work to get a break from my hobby! I've really stepped it up as far as progress lately. I painted bench work from eight this morning until two this afternoon. I had to squat the entire time. For some reason, I decided to paint the tables a reddish brown. Each section took three coats of paint to cover. If I had known what color I was going to paint in advance, I wouldn't have used white primer. Red paint over white primer is a bad idea! I have four of the seven sections finished. Now I need two more days off to finish the rest. I can't wait to be done with building bench work! It is not a favorite of mine, that's for sure!

Everyone must be getting in as much summer fun as they can before Labor Day. I should probably do the same instead of wishing away the heat. I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' Paul!

Mornin' Jeffrey!

Mornin' Willis!

Just got back from the ENT office. Had to get my right ear roto-rooted. I get psoriasis in my ear canal which blocks the wax which then gets a fungus infection. I have to get them cleaned 4 or 5 times a year. Always feels better afterwards, but not a really pleasant procedure with a tender ear.....

I took some new photos of Hopewell Junction on my layout last night for the August Photo contest and can't decide which I like the best. I sent out copies to some artist friends for their opinions. Finally decided to install tortoise machines in the yard and remove the giant Caboose Industries ground throws. I am replacing them with Details West switch stands. Should look a lot better and help with the Scenery AP Certificate I am now going after.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning folks

It is 81 F currently. High today will be 90 F. We had a storm roll through right around daybreak.

I did not go into work today. My foot kept me up most of the night and the medication played havoc with my stomach this morning. I am feeling much better now that the medication has kicked in.

I set up a train and ran it a little last night. I need to do some track cleaning. I just got word that the last LHS I trust is closing; Mitchell’s in Wilmington, DE. It is a family run business and the three siblings running have decided to close after 50+ years. One of their children is going to open a toy store and the manager of the model railroad department will be opening a hobby shop.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning All,
Hi Flo and Hello Susi,
The weather here is considerable spotted clouds but not completely over cast yet but hopefully. It was supposed to rain with Lightening yesterday but never did. The temp is abvout 94 under spotted clouds, lets hope for some rain as this dry area could sure use it but NO Fires!!

Say Susi, I have a couple of patotes fried, with 3 strips of bacon and three eggs over easy, some cottage chese and Hazelnut coffee if you would Doll, thanks.

Now while the chefs preparing that I check on the same here and get back to sending this off.

Did some work on building a curved switch for the Iron & Oil siding, got to come-up with a name fo it? and took some pics of the work on the switch in progress for others to see how I go about it, not too complicated but does require some forethought. Right there now I just caught myself in a mistake
as I didn't grind off the inside web of the rail so the points would lay flush against the outer rails when thrown. Like I said forethought. Oh well easily enough unsolidered and corrected but a bit of a pain.

Have a good day all!!!

Steve awesome videos! How wonderful to see old Oliver Cromwell back under steam after all those years. I can't wait to see a video of Tornado with a string of passenger cars behind her at speed........ Oh yeah!

Good Morning Bill and all,
Well it to early to know what the morning will be like but we didn't get any rain yeaterday and it's not supposed to happen according to the weather on msn but in the mountains here, 'Mark Twain had a saying which is fairly true'. If you you don't like the weather, wait a minute, and it often seems to happen that way especially where clouds are concerned.

Anyway Bill have a cup of coffee on me and what the heck I'll even spring for breakfast. Just don't tell the others, well maybe Rex.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning folks

It was 73 F on the way into the office. High today will be 89 F.

I slept better last night and did not feel exhausted this morning. I am not sure what caused the foot pain to flare up so bad Tuesday night. It was down by Wednesday morning but lack of sleep kept me from doing much until the afternoon.

My son was disappointed at football practice last night. They did not get their pads. He wants the pads because he hates running drills. Once they put on the pads the running drills are replaced by hitting drills. The funny thing is, he is an excellent runner. He constantly finishes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in sprints, and is generally one of the leaders when they do laps.

I ran a train last night and I think I got all the dirty track spots taken care of for now.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning ALL ! From rainsoaked Buffalo ! Seems mike this darn low front has been stuck over us most of the summer ! Would be nice to have a dry spell for awhile . Steve that is one magestic engine . Well not much going on here . Off to the bank and then the Farmer's Market . Oh yeah a large cat has been spotted in our area. They don't know if it is a Mountain Lion or Cougar . And we also had a dead mosquito that had West Nile . So if the big one don't get you the little one will. Well hope you all have a nice day !!!!!!

Hi all,

Not much happening around here - muggy with a threat of localized storms later this afternoon. Haven't done much mrr-related stuff recently because of too many other commitments (preparing for 'Bama trip, helping setup my parish's annual Weekend Festival).

I see another spammer has invaded our space  - hope Bob zaps this pest ASAP!

Steve those were indeed fantastic videos. I'd love to see somebody over here build that kind of 'tornado' with modern technology!

Mornin everyone!

Ken I also reported the uninvited "guest". Hopefully someone will get the flyswatter out and whack him quickly...........

Phillip looks like CSX is spending some money to fix some tracks! Keep the photos coming.

David couldn't help but notice that Rex had a huge breakfast. Hmm. Paul and I would be glad to give you some of our rain. We are several inches above normal for the summer. The mold and mildew are keeping my allergies active.

Paul, Droughts Over!

Gonna be one of those Mark Twain days here in the Finger Lakes they say. Currently 72°F under partly skies. High will be around 74°F, or 76°F, or 80°F? There is a possibility of more rain scattered here and there with a few thunderboomers mixed in at times. They are predicting a 50% chance of rain and sunshine or other kind of weather. I don't think they have any clue..........

Have a good one!
