Good morning all, quiet day here in central Nova, a little snow powder last night but nothing like what is forecast for the weekend.
Well the snow blower is 30 years old and the little garden tractor with plow is 32 years old, and I'm way past both of their ages added together and were all tired of the darn stuff, but I guess there's a couple more months of it.
Guess I should be thankful it's not like those poor folks to the South are going through, my sincerest thoughts go out to them, sure wish things like that didn't happen.
Well y'all have a great day wherever you live
Cheers Willis

Mornin' Fergie! (Flo, get Fergie whatever he wants this morning and put on my, er, ah, well..... put it on steve's tab, OK?)

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' George!

Mornin' Steve! Keep us posted on that wreck will ya. That is going to be some job salvaging her.

Mornin' Paul! Keep the snow over by the big puddle, OK? I have a recording to get done tomorrow and I don't want to see it be postponed again.

Mornin' Jeffry!

Mornin' Willis! 32 year old garden tractor? That's almost new! I keep going to farm museums and looking at antique tractors that were brand new when I was a teenager. Oddly enough some of the ones that were old timers back then are still being used and earning a living, like Ford 8ns, Farmall H and M series.

Good morning folks

It was 39 F as I headed out the door. Our high will be 48 F. The cold weather is expected to come back by Sunday night as we will be in the teens by then.

No modeling last night. My daughter had girl scouts and we had some errands to run.

This weekend is the dreaded grocery shopping. We also have a basketball practice and three games scheduled. On Sunday is Scout Sunday and our pack has been invited to church services at the church that sponsors us.

I would like to finish weathering the 5 blue box TOFCs, 2 RTR TOFCs, and three other flat cars.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Afternoon fellas. Flo, a hot cup of java, please.

Well as yall have heard, I was in the hospital for a week. I had quickly developed an abscess the size of an orange in a parotid gland. The Dr. admitted me for IV antibiotics and possible surgical intervention. Fortunately, I responded to the antibiotics. I've had enough surgery in my life, thank you very much!

The combination of the super strong, (and expensive it turns out), antibiotics and 2 of my IgG treatments on the last day of admission, has really laid me low. I'm getting stronger everyday but its slow and I'm still not quite up to snuff yet. I'm feeling pretty good, just weaker than I would like to be at this point.

Many thanks to those who offered prayers on my behalf. This old curmudgeon, (grumpy old man) needs all the help he can get!

SteveB If OTI were in Lancashire, we'ed have that ship straightened right on out ( we never salavged a boat) but we have done rail cars (what a daunting day for me !!!

Got home from taking my son to guitar lesson and crashed. I am trying not to catch this virus. So far my daughter and I have avoided it but she now sounds like she is coming down with it. I woke up this morning with a sore throat and coughing. Called the doctor and he ordered me a Z-pack which I got on the way from the guitar lesson.

Carey, hope you keep getting better.

I have to go find my credit card. Time to renew my subscription to Raiload Model Craftsman.

Good Afternoon all, another nice day here in Central Nova. Calm before the storm, a lollypalooza if the talking heads are correct.
Hi Fergie, gee I'll have to look to see what I did do as it wasn't a very productive past year for me. :D But thanks, just too many irons in the fire for the past year. I'm just trying to get my old boilers fired up and make some real progress on the layout. If I expand it it means a partial tear down which I don't know if I really want to do that.
Tonight I believe I'll work on some buildings.

Cheers Willis

Afternoon, everybody.

Didn't have any internet until about 11:00 last night after being down 24 hours. Charter has to be the most unreliable outfit in the world. :(

CJ, good to hear from you. I'm gald you're out of the hospital and hope you stay out for a while.

Steve, all the bad wweather was north of us, we got some lightning and a paltry .16 inches of rain. It's a nice sunny day with a temperature of 77. My daffodils are even starting to bloom.

Paul, had neighbor down the street who moved out two weeks ago because he got caught in the teaser rate mortgage trap. It's really sad because he got laid off from his job and the employment market is starting to go down the tubes along with housing. It's going to be a rough ride for a lot of folks. :(

Sorry, I haven't had time to read the rest of the posts. Hope everyone is doing as well as they can. I got a BLI E-7 in Southern paint yesterday and she runs great. The Mars light is amazing. The only thing that didn't come with it is an exploded parts diagram and I have a whole bag of detail parts with no idea which ones go where. I've been looking at Southern E-7 pics and it looks like they all had eyebrow handrails but most of the pictures are too dark to show much detail. Anyone here with any idea what were typical details on a Southern E-7 beyond the usual side handrails?

Ahhhhhh, Home at last...... Just got back from the All-County. Crazy day as this was supposed to happen last week but got postponed due to the weather. The groups had to rehearse at one building yesterday and this morning and then were bused to the Elementary School in the late morning to rehearse on stage. I couldn't get in to set up recording equipment until after 11 this morning, so I had about 20 minutes to get set up before the first group was on stage for the dress rehearsal (and for me to get sound levels.....) Had lunch after I got home at 4:30.

I have a pet sitter come in and take care of the cats at noon when I can't be here (unfortunately I can't just leave food out for them due to dietary needs). Today she brought some catnip for them so they are all "sleeping it off" except for shiela who is once again helping me type.....

I think I will Chill out tonight as soon as I have brought all the rest of the equipment in the house.

Good evening folks

We got in from grocery shopping about an hour ago. I finally have some time to sit down and relax before the next round begins. My daughter is not going to basketball practice tonight. She is down with the virus. I am trying to stay well but I feel it is coming on. My son has his basketball game in about an hour.

I have to hit Wal-mart or Kmart tonight and get new windshield wiper blades for the van and look around for some Valentine Day’s gifts.

I hope everybody has a good evening.

Jim The world of mortgage arrears is bloody awefull, what a mess were all in, I think the concern that there is the potential for a much worse credit crisis than we are currently experiencing is what is driving the Fed's. They are looking at the problem from the inside, and realize that they simply have to engineer a much steeper yield curve to allow the banks to make enough profits so that they might be able to grow their way out of the crisis over time.
