Mark. looks like a great car to attract the cops and pile up the speeding tickets. I had a 1965 Goat with trips, a 389, and a Hurst shifter. Except of the fact the engine topped out at about 6900 RPM's, it would suck the doors off just about anything on the road. I still miss the sound of that thing idling in the driveway. I got a few tickets in that thing too.
Chris, sounds like you have to return to normal married life and kids - but it must have been fun while it lasted.
That hydraulic sawzall was part of our Hurst tool kit. We normally used it to cut burglars out of the ceiling that had been trapped but we did use it a few times for people with medical problems that were too big to get out of the attic entrance. We'd cut a hole for one of our guys to look through and he's guide the guys with the sawzall. It could take down an entire ceiling in an 8x10 room in about 20 minutes. I often wished I still had one for some layout work but, at about $7,000 a pop not counting the compressor, it's a little out of my price range.
Hi, Ken, nice to see you. Having an ops session is a nerve wracking experience. We'd have them for other clubs when I lived in LA and our club layout was 40'x60' so there was always something going wrong. We always had three or four guys assigned to ROW work trying to stay ahead of the problems before the trains got there. Luckily, my dinky layout will only run two trains so ops are easy for me.
Phillip, no snow down here although it looks like Birmingham north could see a few flurries tonight and Monday. Winter has arrived in the Southland.
For some reason, all the cars with Auburn flags seem to have quietly removed them last night. Suddenly, new Alabama flags seem to be showing though. I guess everyone loves a winner.
I still have some kind of low level bug with headaches, chills, and coughing. I stayed in bed this morning and missed church but we have another service tonight that will involve other churches in the area so I guess I should get a little more rest so I'll be up for an hour of hymn singing. I'd rather work on my traffic signals but God would probably rather have me in church. Most of the rain has moved out of the area and the cold air is moving in. We had almost two inches and nothing severe, a real blessing. My lawn is actually squishy for the first time in many months.
