Afternoon, everyone, and a A Happy Easter to all.

God Bless America and the US Navy. They were apparently finally given the green light and did what they train to do - use all necessary force to protect American citizens. I don't know what the details were but three thugs are no more, one is in custody, and Captain Philips is safe. Having been involved in hostage rescues, all I can say it it's a great day for salvation and resurrection.

A big AMEN to that one for sure---:):):)

Was going through my boxes of stuff before, found a P2K SW8 that used to be RI but now a partially converted to ATSF. two Athearn BB Covered hoppers, half a merchant rows III kit and a few parts of flat cars and a Milwaukee Rd Athearn BB Reefer. I don't know what to do with them! (All HO scale)

I know I'm all the way in Australia, but if you WANT this stuff PM me and we can work something out. It's just sitting here I don't know what to do with it. Any other things I find I will chuck in too. Pretty sure this is the last of my HO stuff, must be stuff I didn't sell when I sold my HO equipment.

Cheers.

James

EDIT: This will be going to a good home. :)

And when you have the room ready the wife will want it because it's now presentable. You can have the closet!

If my low life, floor flushing sister knew it was getting finished she would show up with her crap ready to move in a heart beat......:rolleyes::mad::rolleyes::mad:
All it needs is a restroom and closet and it's liveable.

Yeah, same thing happened to me one time. I rented a house once at a substantially low rate because of it's bad condition. The owner said I could fix it up however I could. It took me almost a year working nights and weekends but I got the place in A1 shape. The owner came around and looked at it and told me I did an amazing job then kicked me out and moved his no-good in-laws in. They proceeded to trash the place as they were slobs and it burned to the ground 6 months later because they didn't put a proper lint trap in their dryer. Then they turned around and tried to blame me for it. I haven't had anything to do with them since and for all I care they can drop off the face of the earth.

Good Morning----say, why is this place empty? ---HELLO--Hello--hello--hello Sheesh!---Got quite the echo in this place---:eek::confused:

We're going to see highs this week ranging from 13C all the way up to 18C and not one night time temperature lower than zero!!!:D:D:D And lotsa sun in this weeks forcast as well---except for tomorrow---which will be rainy:D:D

I'm doing some yard work---dethatching our border gardens and such. Maybe get a little train stuff thrown in for good measure----day off you see:D:D:D

Good morning folks.

I believe I ate more food yesterday than I did at Thanksgiving and Christmas combined. I'm a sucker for ham, what can I say!

My wife's family is starting to learn why I had a better childhood than them! I introduced them to my families tradition of flying kites and balsa wood airplanes on Easter. We were outside most of the day instead of crammed into the basement. I forgot how much fun I used to have as a kid.

I have a long, boring day ahead of me today.

Have a great day!

Good morning folks

It was 30 F as I headed out on to the highways this morning. Our high will be 54 F.

Things have been crazy over the end of last week. However, we may be coming to the end of the current round of panicking. I do see storm clouds gathering regarding another project that could suck me in. I went in on Saturday to catch up on some of my “normal” duties that have been put on hold during the recent project surge.

We had a very nice and quiet Easter this year. It was a little bittersweet as the Easter Bunny did not come. My son has outgrown him. It did, however, make putting the Easter baskets together much faster as there were four people to work on them instead of three. I did spend some of the weekend working on Cub Scout Career Arrows for our upcoming Arrow of Light ceremony. Career arrows show which ranks a Cub Scout has earned since he joined Scouts up to earning the Arrow of Light. My wife used thread to show the different ranks. I am making the plaques to hold the arrows. I had to woodburn each scouts, name, pack number, and year into them. I am currently trying to seal them. I also spent some time making the program for the ceremony.

Tonight my son has guitar lesson. We also have a Parents Meeting for Boy Scouts. My son will become a Boy Scout in less than two weeks and the meeting concerns the Boy Scout Summer Camp we would like him to go to.

I am hoping once the Arrow of Light and Crossover are done I will get some model time.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning.

It's 55 and very foggy. The high should be in the upper 70's and it will be partly cloudy.

Went to lunch yesterday with my sister and had a very good steak and chicken meal in spite of the fact that the weather was severely ugly. Came back home then attended an Easter celebration and birthday party at my niece's home. Railroadwise I installed DZ125 decoders in a pair of GP40's that are now electronically and physically MU'd together. We dodged the bullet on the weather. The worst of it went to the north of us but that's not saying that it didn't get bad. It got downright nasty! Just thinking about how many limbs could be down on my parents property gives me some hesitation about venturing out.

Tom, we still did Easter baskets, even though the kids are too old for them (my oldest is going on 20). It kinda makes them feel like little kids again, if even just for a short time.

Phil

It was kind of fun to watch them making their baskets. My son enjoyed it because he finally got to pick what candy went in his basket. What he didn't like he tried to sneak into his sister's basket. Of course she was doing the same thing to him. It made for some fun moments when they discovered something they didn't like in their baskets.

We did the Easter baskets for the grand kids. Alissa, my grand daughter had chocolate all over her face and hands after the choco bunny and we have pics to prove it when she get old enough to embarrass her with which will come much to quickly I am sure. Colton, my grand son, did much better this year. I also got all four front yards mowed after everyone left yesterday and my whole yard mowed. I probably would have finished all of the mowing ceptin it gotsed dark on me.

Afternoon, everyone.

Well, we were rocking and rolling last night. Had near continuous lightning, heavy rains, and strong straight line winds from about midnight until 4 am. Lots of trees down in the area. We lost power about 5:00am and just got it back about 20 minutes ago. I understand the Atlanta area got it even worse than us. Round Two is forming up on the Tennessee/Mississippi border. Doesn't look like much now but it should get going later this evening. I finally went to bed at 4:00 and had to be up at 7:30 to take Dianna to the hospital for her tests before a procedure next week. I don't do as well on 3 hours sleep as I used to when I was younger. :)

Larry, those sure are cute grandkids. I don't have any yet but I'm looking forward to spoiling them and then returning them to momma to take care of.

Jeffrey, sounds like a nice Easter dinner. I hope your area doesn't have as many trees and limbs down as us. I think this next round will miss you.

Corey, I haven't flown a kite in a good long time. I used to build those square versions out of balsa wood and paper and got one up to 2,000 feet before I ran out of line. I'm going to have to try that again.

BOC, my yard work since I got home was cutting and hauling off broken limbs to the woods. I'm glad we're having a wet spring but it can let up for a it now. I hope the rest of the ARG made it through OK. I haven't heard of any tornados but the peak gust at my house was 59 mph. That does a lot damage to trees and power lines.

OK, off to bed to get a few hours sleep before the next punch hits. I hope you all have a good day.

Good Afternoon all!
We had an exciting night like Jim. Soon after the storms passed around midnight, we got winds for two hours that felt like a hurricane and had peak gusts up to 60 mph. They call it "gravity wave or wake low" (I think that's correct) and they come behind the storm. Well, they played "H" around T-town Metro knocking over several hundred very large trees onto power lines and even breaking poles.

I listened to the scanner and it sounded like about every street the police turned down had lines down and were blocked; a few homes/businesses actually had the meter boxes ripped from the building. There were over 40,000 without power in the county this morning and several main roads are still blocked from huge trees. Fortunately, we only lost power for about 5 hours and only a few dead limbs in the yard.
Good'ole Southern living! :rolleyes::D

Sounds like a fun time. Glad it doesn't get the crazy where I am.

Good news! IT IS ALIVE! Finally finished swapping the motor. Did a once over, filled up all the fluids, turned her on. Took her a bit to get started, and it was a little rough as the car warmed up. But she is running great now. Has a lot more power before. I did notice a lot of oil on things that shouldn't have oil on them from the old car. Guess when the head gasket went (assuming) a few years ago (before it was mine), it dumped oil everywhere.

Time to go change oil in tractor and tiller. Things are older than I am!

Ha!!!
I found y'all!
You are just like my parents when I was 12.
Y'all moved and didn't tell me.
Well, I found my parents, too.
Now, who else did you manage to ditch?

Huge in spunk!

Rico is 8 weeks old and weights 1 pound:eek: He ain't going to get much bigger either:eek: What he lacks in size he makes up in spunk:eek: Our older dogs are getting use to him. He can stand up under Jerry:eek::eek::eek::eek: That is so funny to see got to get a picture of that.

Rico is adorable!!!

I may be over 50, but the Easter Bunny came to my house! I coloured eggs, ate chocolate, had delicious ribs for dinner. doen'st get much better.

My silly mare STILL hasn't had her little one.

however, its Cupcakes birthday today, she's TWO. I made carrotcake cupcakes in her honour, and had some friends over to celebrate. Hard to believe back only 2 years ago, I was down to just twelve horses, until she was born. number 13 in the barn, born on a Friday 13. of course, I named her Bakers Dozen.

now, I'm back up to 18, with #19 due to arrive any night now.

hey, at least I'm down from 26 this last winter.

fewer horses in the barn meanst a bit more time to play trains. its nice to have time for a second hobby!
