Evening all. Well it took me roughly 3 to 4 Years, that's right,I said years ,to finish a Central of Georgia caboose. Here's a brief story about it. I purchased the kit from Gary Wright of Wrighttrak Railroad models, and got started. Well,to make a long story short,I made some mistakes along the way,and ,well,if you can belive this,I actually went through TWO sets of the end railings. So,anyway, after finally getting the last set,and making myself finish the darn thing, here follows some photos. Enjoy..William. This first photo is before I painted it.
Okay, here is one more,of both loco, and caboose. I think it looks pretty good.William. The caboose represents a caboose from roughly the mid '50's till merger with Southern Railway. The model is a version of a plywood sheathed caboose. Number series 1-71,I think.
Morning Fred. Thank you for the complement. Yes,the caboose is a cast resin kit, that I bought from WrightTrak Railroad Models. In fact, that particular caboose can still bought, either from the CofG Historical Society,(http://www.CofG.org) or from WrightTrak Railroad Models. William.
Very nice looking job indeed. I have a Southern caboose from WrightTrak sitting on my "to-do" shelf that I haven't gotten up the courage to start yet. I suspect it will be a long term project like yours.
Hey Paul. No,on this caboose I did not,do an interior. However,on one or two of Gary Wrights caboose kits,he does offer an interior to go with them. The ACL M5 caboose, and the Southern Bay Window caboose does offer a interiorin the kit. William.
