So I'm going to run a few of the caboose industries ground throws. I initially placed my track fairly close together but quickly learned that in multi-track situations, the ground throws just wouldn't fit.
Any suggestions for alternatives? Or am I looking at getting the Atlas under table machines? I'd like to keep the track spacing fairly close in most areas, except perhaps the dual mains.
An under table machine or a push-pull cable works well for those situations. Atlas makes a code 55 specific under table machine just for this. Look towards the bottom of this link to see one option:

I've seen their under table switch machine....my dilemma is that I've got 1 1/2" of foam and then an additional 1/2" or 3/4" of MDF below that, haha.
You might do better with a push-pull cable then. Page 40 iof the July/August N scale magazine has a very good article on this that allows for power routing and signal control too if you like. I'd suggest picking up a copy.
