OK, so you guys are wondering how to preserve your chalk weathering jobs?

What would a pastel artist use? Do you think they are going to cover it with something like Krylon that's going to make their work dissappear?

Stop jackin' around with amature products and go to a REAL art supply store and get some "Perfix Colourless Fixative" by Daler-Rowney.

OK, so it's $6.00 for a 150ml can . . . BUT IT WORKS!! No fade!!! Then cover it with clear flat of your choice.

Done deal. Never weather a model twice again.

I use the hobby lobby (tree house studio) acrylic clear and matte for coating and works fine for my pastel weathering.

Many years ago (40) the wife and I were on our first vacation and an artist did a chalk of my bride at the Dells. Afterwords he sprayed it with arrisall hair spray and when it dries flat clear. All these many years later it still looks like new and no yellowing.
