It's a GE B39-8E.

I have a BN model of one of those I picked up from the Bachmann Plus series. I like that engine a lot. I bought it new a few months ago, and the engine is already ten years old, it had never been run, so it has some break in time still needed!

thanks for the help, after doing some more searching to see who made this shell with the model you supplied i narrowed it down to RPP.

the only thing they offer is a 8-40B.

Could it even be that?

That is the same basic body, the difference is almost completely internal. I seem to remember something about the SSW units being upgraded electrically, hence the -E.

The horns that SSW and SP on their B39-8E's were Nathan/Holden K5H's. You may want to buy a Details West K5H model.
