what can you do with this layout? i got heaps of stuff with it, which was good!!



give me some ideas

ive just made 2 loops, as you can see the earlier shots there is only one line now there are two lines however the sidings are gone.






 
Loops are fun at first becasue you get trains running. Unfortunately after running a few laps they begin to get boring. You want to design a layout that will grow with you.

Well, I see two loops, one not very well supported, and bunch of track laying in the middle. Have you drawn out any sort of track plan? Do you have any vision about what your model railroad is supposed to do besides go around in circles? If not, those are the first two things you need to work on. It looks like you've got the space but just no organization.
 
yes hi, yes it is not organised as i said i bought this layout as i saw i on ebay near my house, i need to work on it, i had a HO layout when i was a kid, that was 15 years ago,

yes please give me some feedback on what i can do,

there is an extra loop now, which is not on proper support, i didnt want to keep the radii too small so it went just over the edge of the board, what else can i place in the middle? i will have a look at spacemouses beginners guide to layout, but this layout has already been laid, comes with motorised points which are working.
 
Can you draw out at least a rough sketch of what track is already in place and the overall dimensions of the layout? You can always change the position of switches and rewire them so don't let that determine what your layout will become.
 
ok i will take a photo of the track which is only laid, it is confusing looking at the photos above which track is laid and isnt.
 
the dimensions is 1.6M x 0.660M, i like the layout quite alot, i will need to add scenery to it, also i am limited to space so thats the other issue, i dont want to expand the layout greater than what the board will take.
 
The first issue is that inner track. It doesn't seem to have a purpose and the grade back to the main level of the layout is way too steep. Can you pull that track out and then fill that big hole in the middle with foam? Right now, you have no place for industries, a town or any kind of scenery unless you want a giant lake in the middle.
 


hi thanks for your feedback, i wanted to have 2 loops so thats why the inner track is there, yes the inner track is too steep as the engine (Steam loco) incurred wheel slippage while pulling some wagons up the embankment.
