I am wanting an Athearn bnsf sd40-2 snoot nose dummy. Here is the problem. I do not think that Athearn offers one. I have seen lots of shells of the exact model I want but I have no idea what frame to buy to put under it.Any ideas? Thanks!

Except for the SP tunnel motor snoot noses, I think the others were all on standard SD40-2 frames. The longer nose just occupied more of the "front porch" than a standard SD40-2 so a different frame wouldn't have been needed.

Any dummy Athearn SD40-2 frame will fit, but the key is to figure out what version of the Snoot shell you have. The older style uses pins on the sides of the frame to hold the shell on. Newer ones use the coupler boxes. They are the same dimensions, however the newer chassis will not lock onto an older shell...
