Hi i was wondering what the best way to strip paint on my mantua diecast boiler thankyou.
I do not have the answer but I also have a mantua pacific and mikado that needs to be striped and repainted. The funny thing is I just got the Atlantic running last night. I came to the forum this morning to see tips on how to repaint it.
Anything that is all metal can be stripped nicely in lacquer thinner.

OR, just plain oll paint remover.
I use Easy Off oven cleaner on everything - including plastics.

Just be sure to do this in a well-ventilated area and use rubber gloves.

I use my wife's fingernail polish remover. Pour a little into a plastic or glass container and use cotton balls to sop up the paint. I would always recommend doing a little test area first.
Thankyou for the useful tips.
