Bench work wood

Any reason my bench work wood needs to be dressed? Rough sawn is a heap cheaper and it really can't be seen!

How well is your layout going to be climate controlled? Rough lumber will absorb moisture more readily than smooth.

No climate control needed, we don't have high humidity and it won't freeze in there, insulated.

I may use a portable electric heater in the winter, and open the door in the summer, but that's about it. I've never had a problem with wood expansion/contraction in anything I've built before (I've renovated houses extensively)

So I guess rough sawn will do the job?

I found a good source of some wood, my work!!

Ceiling batons, used to screw the drywall to, it's 1 1/4 X 3 3/4 and has rounded edges. $1.70 metre.
