The Faller system is nice, but it is very very expensive. Also, you can apparently only get buses and trucks, not automobiles, as the mechanism and battery is too big for a car.

Huh. You're (both) right, but although there are a lot of videos on YouTube that show the system running, I can't find any shots of a vehicle smaller than a van.
