I picked up a real nice C&O Atlas caboose in HO scale this weekend...like this
http://www.atlasrr.com/HOFreight/hoevcaboose2.htm

Someone added some extra lights on it that appear to be powered by an internal battery, with a switch on the bottom of the caboose. BUT I can't figure out how to get into it. I believe there are tabs of some sort that need some prying, but the fit is so tight I'm affraid of breaking something just to get inside and check the electronics.

HELP??

I have several of the NE6 style Atlas. Not sure if they are assembled the same way as the one you have or not. On the NE6 there are 2 very small slots in the outside edges of the floor next to the trucks on each side near the inner axles of each truck. After removing the ladders and end railing assemblys insert a very small screwdriver in the slots and gently pry the floor from the body. It is just a very small notch and tab fit so no extra force is required.

Just something I do...
Any shells removed always get the locking tabs either dulled or removed so that the subsequent removal goes way easier. :)
