Athearn Quality?

That's quit a bit for 2 cents worth!

I don't have to worry about prototypical accuracy since I model a modern day Rock Island. I do worry about quality though. My paint jobs are better then most of the Atlas and Athearn that I've seen. I do add some better detail parts to my P2K's but not a lot. A noisy engine is also something I would have a hard time getting used to.

I haven't been real impressed with what few Athearn models I have seen lately. I will go back to another hobby shop (my LHS doesn't carry a lot of Athearn locos) and do some more inspecting.

It's all Chinese quality were talking here . Top of the line stuff .George just wait around a while or buy the American stuff now . At the rate of our recession and inflation our prices will be up to yours in no time !
