I need the bottom clip on the trucks for an HO SD40T-2. Not sure what part number I need and I want to buy them someplace other then Athearn. They take way to long. Anyone know where I can get some faster online?
yeah, i just had to ask athearn about replacement glass for my sd70m... they sent an email back telling me to just email them all my info, including credit card# and what not.... i dont feel comfortable at all just emailing anyone my information like that.. i msuprised they dont have a secure site to enter all of that info into
You can call Athearn customer service and do the transaction on the phone if you think e-mail is too insecure. You can also go to http://www.athearn.com/Products/Parts/Default.aspx and find almost any part that Athearn still makes or has in stock. Find the part you want and send them a check for the price plus $5.50 for shipping. They usually deliver in two to three weeks. Include your e-mail address so they can contact you if the part is out of stock.

Rather than start a new thread...I'm reviving this topic.
I'm looking for a few Athearn locomotive parts, and used is okay as well as new.
#84020 motor mount pad
#42007 worm housing, long
I checked with Athearn and they stock the items but have a minimum $10 handling charge. I'd prefer to avoid that for these few small parts.
Anybody have an idea of a good source...or maybe have some old parts lying around?
The worm housing is for an Alco PA1 diesel #3305 old enough to pre-date the flywheel motors
The motor pad is for an FD45 diesel #3624 that has flywheels.
I have the motor mounts on ebay right now for sale. I used the ones I needed, kept two spare and am selling the rest. They fit my Athearn F-45, which I think is the same.
Anyway, a couple drive shafts included. Shipping way cheaper here, too.
