Athearn Genesis MP15AC light board removal

I recently purchased an Athearn Genesis MP15AC and right now I'm trying to install a decoder. Only problem I've run to, is that the light board doesn't want to move. Is there some special way I'm suppose to remove it? Usually they come off pretty easy.

Thank you.

i have the same loco and going to tackle decoder install as well some time soon. the paperwork says it is quick plug equipped? wasn't it supposed to solve this issue ?

Well, it should either be screwed in or held in with a piece of double sided foam tape.
looks to be screwed in. 2 screws for front board, 1 for the back
or so it seems from schematics...

Maybe I was talking about the wrong thing? I'm talking about the small chip attached to the DCC Quick Plug socket. I ended up using pliers and lightly grabing the chip, wiggled it out.

The light board would be the whole thing attached to the motor & lights, ect. The part you removed is just a DC jumper.

Ah, that would be the jumper. It's there so the engine will run on DC. They usually are in pretty tight so wiggling them out with a small pliers or tweezers is the usual way it's done.
