Are you talking about the Genesis engines? If so, the answer is yes. I've swapped shells from F7A to F3A, and F7B to F3B. If you're talking about taking a Genesis shell and putting it on a RTR frame, or vice-versa, the answer is maybe. Highliners shells (basis for the Genesis line) were meant to go on the Athearn Blue Box frames.

I'm not sure how to tell the diff. And what is an RTR frame? I'm eyeing a used set of chassis someone is selling. How do you tell the diff between the RTR and Genesis?
Thanks!

The RTR chassis generally has the older brass colored motor and no spot at the rear for a speaker, and a lug to mount the headlight. The Genesis frame will have a skew-wound motor, a spot on top of the back of the frame for a speaker, and the headlights are generally glued into the shell, and connected to the PC board with wires.
Here's a photo of a Genesis F7B frame I happened to have lying around:

Thanks for the info. The frame I'm looking at is a dummy frame but looks nothing like the one you posted. Thanks BTW!
