I'm just getting back into model railroading after almost 20 years.
Back then, I bought Athearn diesels because they were good value for the money. And they were the best I could afford. I have installed DCC decoders in 2 of them and they run great. I have 5 diesels but we all know that's not enough and will be looking for more.
Most of my 20+ pieces of rolling stock are also Athearn. My question is this: is Athearn still good value for money today and what other makers are equivalent in cost and quality?
Thanks.
Bernie
