Noodle is good
I bought an Up gecx ac4400, im intending to convert it to dcc , detail it and renumber it to it actual number, 7002, and add UP decals. Im now wondering where to start, the units do not include grab iron. It has also a bulb headlight, i want to install a DEL and ditchlight. Any Leads ? I will add some photo tonight.
Ps- this is my first bb unit.

theres a guy who did a nice install of a soundtraxx tsunami on here for an athearn ac4400 rtr. just do a search and it should come up. he did the light board replacement type decoder which is cheaper and easier.

I still have a pcb board from a dash-9, wich i had already planned to use, the real problem for me will be to isolate the motor

Oh ok. There are several how to's on here and youtube about how to convert a BB to DCC. Basically it involves taking the motor out, isolating the bottom of it from the chassis, reinstalling it, and then hooking up the decoder. Most of the videos show the install of a digitrax dh-123 or similar decoder, whereas what youd do is hardwire the wires to your spare pcb.

good luck

Let us know what you come with. I have a couple of BB's that I want to convert and get rid of the globes and replace them with LED's

Today im going to glue everything on the loco, and i will get out to seek somes leds.
Due to the numbers of numbers board, windows, and headlight, i will try to build a support with plastic sheel.

Does anyone know how to pull off the cab on the ac4400 ?

The body is taken off by removing the couplers, then squeeze the body shell just above the fuel tank to release the four tangs from the chassis.
I,ve got three of these locos painted up for Norfolk Southern, I think that they are pretty good loco,s that extra details would work well on.

Some lil' update on my project, engine wiring is done, now it is time for the leds, using digitrax wiring harness, wiring was hassle free, i have isolated the motor, but im still using the frame as a conductor for the positive power
