Ill be pre-ordering all 4 BNSF as well as all 4 UP Flag units with DDC/SOUND for myself.

Now taking pre-orders for anyone who wants them, due out late September

DCC/SOUND Version: $217.49 EACH
DCC Ready: $142.49 EACH

Much like Intermountain is doing with the ES44AC's and ES44DC's, Athearn is doing roadname specific details for each locomotive their releasing, which is a huge plus for those who are detail freaks :D

Good to see that Athearn has these coming out. I can't wait to see at least the sample photos of them, might look into getting one after that. :)

My problem is that the CP ES44AC models from Intermountain are tempting as well. :rolleyes: :eek:

Damian, and anyone else who wants me to pre-order their SD70ACe's for them, Please send me your shipping address and email address along with the item number(s) of the locomotives that you are wanting to pre-order in a PM so I can open an order and keep a record of who orders what :)

And remember, doesnt cost you a dime to pre-order from Maders Trains :D

I can order you a dcc/sound unit instead of a non-sound, that wont be a problem :D

Im guessing the shipping is going to be around $8.50 + $4.70 for shipping insurance. I wont know the exact shipping costs until they are actually released because of the flexing USPS shipping rates. I know they changed a couple times last year, and starting this year they raised the prices. I just cant say for sure what the prices are going to be like in September.... I also normally dont require the purchase of shipping insurance, but for high value items like locomotives, shipping insurance is required. It is best for both you and I, and will ensure that if something does go wrong, that you will be able to get your money back

I just saw that Athearn uploaded the drawings for the units within the past couple hours, even the drawings look cool, I hope they post some pre-production model pics too!!
 


I would be interested in one, if they have the D&RGW paint scheme. I was gonna just order the MTH, because they have it.

Anyone know if they will offer the SD70ACe in D&RGW??

they have an undecorated one, so if you got the skillz to paint it, you would make some substancials savings
 
I dropped in my pre-order to Josh, hope to be able to pre-order an Undec KCS version, because it's good for a few BNSF units, as well as getting a few UP models... "Need" the BNSF decorated version first...

Its athearn, i dont think there will be any shortage. the ACe is there to stay
 


Trucklover, Would you consider installing DCC decoders in the Athern Genesis SD70ACe´s non sound units if purchased from you? I like TCS. Let me know, and how much
