ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

you hear that? A few days! Most model train enthusiasts struggle for weeks, months or years trying to learn enough to get started and to get their layout the way they want it.

Imagine showing your friends and family your new and improved Model Train collection… complete with smoke in a fire scene, flowing water, mountains, tunnels, whatever you want

Just laugh like the rest of us and use the money for a couple of nice pieces of rolling stock. And then get all of the same info in this and similar free websites.

LOL, HB. KCS, that thing is a complete joke. You get a downloadable PDF file for $37 and most of the information is copied and pasted directly off the web and from model railroad forums like this one. If Mr. Williamson is reading this and cares to dispute what I've said, I'll be happy to debate him. Oh, and if that isn't a big enough ripoff, you can get his friend and associate, Robert Anderson's PDF file called "Ultimate Guide to Model Trains" for just $39.97. Just click on the link at the bottom of that interminably long page. These two prey on people with no knowledge of model railroading who think they will get some fountain of knowledge by dropping $70 for these two pieces of junk. Can you tell I think they are liars and frauds? :D

That's what i figured. I'd learned more on here in a few weeks than i have anywhere. Just thought i'd ask since it keeps coming up. Time for new pop-up blocker.

There you go! It's guys like Josh who are posting useful information and these two other sneaks steal it and want you to pay $37 for it.

Send me $49.95 now and I'll let you download the answer to the ultimate question about life, the universe, and everything. :D:D:D

The sad thing is some people will actually be taken in by that load of <censored>.

Oh yea, the answer to life, the universe, and everything is 42.

I love this one:

"The only type of diesel locomotive you should ever invest in!"

Really? Diesels as investments! The ones that go up in value must be a mystery, because every single one of mine has gone down. Even the Katos, and most of the brass, I can't get what I paid back out of it most of the time.

This one too: "How a locomotive runs and why yours needs lots of the right type of wheel to run well!"

So, if I have an 8-wheel locomotive, and find these "right type of wheels", I should buy like 50 of them and stick them all over it?

"How to get a feel for the types of sets you can purchase and build for FREE."

You know, I've purchased things... and I've gotten some things for free. I've never purchased anything for free.

"The simple thing you should do which will secure your train and make it run a lot better!" --- super glue it to the track?

"Cost considerations… the pros and cons of different qualities (and how to know you’re getting a good deal when you buy your model train supplies)" - of course you know you're getting a good deal. That guy in the Hawiian shirt at the train show said it was a good deal.

I didn't read all of the hype... read aloud, it would take up at least a 1/2 hour 4:00 am infomercial on History Channel.

Andy, LOL, I have the feeling most of that was done by some kind of random word generator. :) Most of it makes no sense. I think the idea is that you'll buy it before you get halfway down or your brain will explode.
