Hi all. These are pics a friend took during a recent trip to Italy. Obviously, this is a switcher, but does anyone have any specifics concerning it? It looks like a diesel with the running gear of a steamer. :confused: Either way, it's a cool little whatever. :D

Eric,
There's a guy on the "big forum" who goes by the name Railroading_Brit, he could definitely answer your question; in fact I believe he even has a Maerklin [or Trix?] model of that switcher. Post your question over there and I bet you'll have an answer pretty quick!
 
All it really means that one set of wheels are powered, and the rest of them are powered by the side rods. CP Rail in Canada had a European one many years ago.
