I'm starting to build a new layout. I haven't been able to start on the frame work yet ,but I have been gathering some odds and ends as far as scenery go. One of the things is a few Campbells wood kits. The problems I'm having is I'm using Testors wood glue. It wants to form a "skin" when I use it . The 'skin" is forming on the glue in the nozzle. I chose Testors because of past use and performance of it. Now it seems not so good. My question is ,what is a good glue to use when building these wood kits. I've built many wood kits such as model rockets, planes and of course buildings for scenery. I had always used the Testors glue and never had a problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Well I was in a hurry and had to get some parts for adding an electrical circuit to my garage . Ordering the parts, I wanted to get the Elmer's glue but the store didn't have any. So I went with the tite bond . We'll see how I like that. I'm in the process of building an old Campbells kit, the Kiowa trackside details # 3. If I remember I'll get my camera out and get some pictures of the progress. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
Elmer's Wood Glue has been my choice for building wood kits. A very this coat then clamp the parts. You'll have a welded joint.
The clamping part is essential to a good welded joint.
