Another new guy

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Thank you. Been learning a lot from this site.

I only have the rest of this week to work on stuff. Traveling to Indy Feb 16 until March 1.

Initial round of decals applied. Microscale decals with MicroSol and Microset.

Cannon and Co. number boards are not the same size as old BB.
As always, thanks for looking.

Masked the pilots and stripes this afternoon and laid down the main color tonight. Didn't come out half bad, a few touchups that I may or may not do pending weathering.

Thanks for looking and thanks for all the assistance so far.
the big G!!!! i used to live in NH & watch the "Hospital train" 690 SD 26 643 go by on the old D2 AKA rockingham jt they were so old they kept them near waterville just in case one of the broke down

Very nice job, great details. We'll is it new in the roster? No weathering, if it's been around a few years, some exhaust soothe on top, a light rust colored spray on the bottom half and pilots. Your choice.

I always have like a light coat of dirt personally .

Thanks , I live in Derry currently, but have lived my whole life around the greater Merrimack Valley area. Spent a lot of time around the Lawrence Yard.

Thanks Wheeler, I'll get there eventually. Going to practice on a few cheap old Tyco and Bachmann cars I found in the box with this, they're half destroyed anyway. I'm not unfamiliar with it, I've been modeling armor and sci-fi for about 40 years. Just never tried on anything small scale. Just don't want to overdo it.

Always start Light. You can always add more, but never take away too much. I love to build layers with an airbrush.

Yep, that's a good looking unit there. Well done.

Gotta ask about your moniker. Borrowed from the river or from the band?

Thanks folks.
@Snowman, I'm a Jeeper with a 2005 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (LJ).

A couple years ago up in Bethel Maine.

No ducks allowed on my Jeep, those are for Mall Crawlers and Parking Lot Patricias.

Oh, good grief. I was raised in Jeeps and learned how to drive a clutch in a CJ-5. Dad was a member of the "Mile High Jeep Club," Longmont patrol...my brothers and I "played" Rat Patrol when the top was down on the sand dunes of North Park...and I've been to at least three "All For Fun" weeks in my lifetime: Moab, Lake City and Leadville.

It's even worse: The family owned four Wagoneers, including the Grand Wagoneer sitting outside this very house.

To not have realized a Jeep was another "Rubicon" option is so downright embarrassing my father's ghost must be red faced...which is a neat trick for a ghost.

Head

Slap.

Where's my rock? I need to crawl back under.
