The price of the Kaslo shell is well worth it, even without a drive. All details included, most are etched steel and brass. It inlcudes handrails, a detailed instruction manual and usually comes with a few extra parts, JIC. I've assembled quite a few of these, and they are well worth the money and effort. It's one of the few ways to still feel like a craftsman with a market flooded with "R-T-R".
Did some digging and found this, http://www.mgdecals.com/kaslo_shops.htm no pictures but gives you a decent list of what they seem to offer as well as prices. Seems they are big into the Canadian railroads, wish there was someone like this for Conrail.
I've done one Kalso kit, the GP-10 which, thank goodness, just drops on a GP-9 P2K frame. As Randy's pictures show, it's no shake the box kit. The shells are expensive but a lot better detailed than trying to kitbash a GP10. I think my total build time from box to finished was about two months, working a few hours a day. It's one of those kits that's not really difficult, just time consuming to get the shell cleaned up and all the details mounted. Resin is also tough on drill bits so plan on having a bunch on hand.
