lol, did that with our boat's horn back when I was stationed on the US Coast Guard Cutter SAGINAW... several pelicans had fallen asleep on a navigational aid that we had to fix, cap't blew the horn to wake 'em up, and it literally scared the $**t out of them... all over the beacon we had to change!! ewww...

How did you clean the beacon?With a pressure washer?
 
we didnt have one... I think they wound up changing the plywood on it, but the fresh droppings got everywhere... including all over us. we were very glad it was the last beacon of the day! the showers were packed that nite...
