anyone ever ride the Auto Train on the east coast? my grandma is getting to old to drive t oand from florida and my dad suggested the auto train. how is it? it can be as long as it needs to be (my grandma's very patient). costs? service? accomidations? thanks for your replies.
my buddy just went to fla for bike week and took the train down
and said it was the worst thing they ever did. so bad infact that they
rode there bikes back up to new york.
if money is not a problem a car hauler and a plane ticket is the way to
go. should cost around the same $700ish for the car hauler and $200ish
for jetblue
I'd fly and rent a car in Florida. The Amtrak auto train really does have lousy service, is frequently 10-18 hours late, and is horrendously expensive. Florida is suffering from a drop in tourism and rental cars are cheap.
thanks for that guys. my uncle says that it would be best to use the car carrier and buy a plane ticket. thanks for the save there

I took it about 5 years ago, takes a long time to get your car loaded
