I was wondering what you guys think about an airliner at 1/200 scale for my n scale layout. I want to have some planes or an airport just can't find any planes. Though about just hanging it above the layout in the back corner. Do you think it will look ok. Just wanting your thoughts. Thanks

Sure, a little force perspective. I have a fare collection of the Hasagawa kits built up and I thing they would look great over an N scale layout. After all, if they are in the air they are usually higher then your ceiling in scale. (Say a man who lives a mile off the end of a runway.) I would thing that smaller (737) types might look better than big (747) types

Airplanes flying might be cool, but I'd skip the airport, unless most of it could be on the backdrop. Airports take up a lot of valuable real estate, and not many are served by rail, ya know?

If you do decide to do an airport, you could suspend the airplanes at an angle from the airport or the backdrop of the airport to make the planes look like they are taking off and landing so that it doesn't look like an airplane is about to crash land on your layout.

I have about 15 planes & 8 helicopters flying above my layout & a friend is sending me 8 jetliners in kit form that I have to build. Then they will be about 8ft. above my layout.
The layout before this one had a 6ft. long runway, hangars, control tower & 12 planes sitting on the ground. I had a rail running across the end of the runway. The whole airport took up a space 7ft. long & 3ft. wide.
