Hey, fellows here writting again from Chile, this time I'd like to get some advices about a eventually purchase of start trains set of Bachmann,
and this is it !...
http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/Bachmann_HO_00615_Golden_Spike_Starter_Set_p/bac-00615.htm
I have seen also another trainset but is more expensive, so let me know about this purchase !...advices....warnings, etc, etc.
- I wondering, if get this trainset that has EZ Track, Would I be able to link this tracks with other ones of Atlas code 83 tracks ?
- what does mean EZ Mark II, knucle couplers ?...
- I would very pleased if you answer me in basic english words, please !!!!
- Thanks you so much !!!!
Don't buy this train set. The quality of the engine and cars isn't very good and you're getting a bunch of cheap scenic junk you don't need. EZ Track can be used with other track but your either have to buy a transition track of make your own. EZ Track switches (turnouts) do not work very well and will give you constant trouble.
I'd spend he money like this:
A better quality locomotive that already has DCC but will also run on DC:
http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/product_p/bac-60703.htm - $40
A few high quality freight car kits like these:
http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/Branchline_Blueprint_Series_HO_1509_40_AAR_Boxcar_p/181-1509.htm - $8 each
A decent quality caboose like this:
http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/product_p/ath-74306.htm - $12
So you can get a good engine with DCC for $40, three freight car kits for $24, and a caboose for $12. That's $76, which is a little less than you'll pay for a much poorer quality train set. Buy the power pack and tracks in Chile. I'm sure there are modelers and model shops there and you'll pay a much better price than by importing them from the US.
I hope my English is understandable to you. I can imagine it's not easy trying to figure out all this model railroad stuff in English and then translating it to Spanish. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much UP2CSX, Pity, I was very exciting about the possibility to purchase this trainset.
