adding weight to assembled car

i have a couple ho scale front range 2 bay acf covered hoppers completely assembled but no weights inside. what is the best way to add weight with out ruining the car?

Sand

Make sure nothing can leak out and put sand in the cars from the bottom or a hatch that opens. If you can put the sand in from the top, once you have the weight you want you can always soak the sand with wet water and drop in you 50/50 glue mix to hold everything firm.

Some of the covered hoppers have an inspection port on one end. I have used small BBs that you can buy from the Walmart ammo section with the elmers glue to hold them in place.
