Hello,

I am building a control panel for my layout and use momentary DPDT switches (On-Off-On). They work great for switching but because they are momentary and return to neutral position I never know the direction of my switch. I wold like to introduce led lights to the panel to give me direction but because it is a momentary switch I only get a momentary light from the LED.

I am trying to find out if my only option would be some type of a relay and if you know the type is please let me know.

Any other ideas on how to solve this?

Regards,
Renato

Here is an update...

I think I am very close to having the BCD circuit perfect for my switches but have run into a possible issue that I don't know how to resolve.

I have 3 different switches on my Kato N layout.
#4 and # 6 switches - switching and LED direction works but there is some noise coming from the switch when I change to the same direction (branch line). The noise is a buzzing noise.
Double crossover switch - LED direction works the buzzing is there as well but it doesn't throw the switch. It throws the switch into the straight position.

The buzzing happens on all switches when they are thrown into the branch line position.

Has to be something with the capacitor.

Any advice?
Here is the drawing that I sued to create my BCD circuit.

Regards,
Renato
