That is a good choice for an engine I like it not sure what spark arrestor you are looking for but Details West has some they have a catalog you can download with pictures or Miniatures by Eric
I have a few of the Detail Associates ones but they are hard to come by anymore

look for a Juneco C-4 spark arrestor if you can find some they are what I have they are cast metal

The Athearn GP9 cnr #4402 and #4409 come with that spark arrrestor found one for $169.98 free ship

Thank you for that information. If that C-4 arrestor is the type that is on #4409, it's the one I'm looking for. However, it is a very low priority at this point. My highest priority is getting the space for a layout prepared, and getting some proper track down.
Right now, all I have available is a loop of Bachmann black track. Not much fun.

I'm thinking that $169.98 ($227.00cdn) you mention is in the U.S. lower 48. I bought mine for $247.00cdn shipped, which I was quite happy with.
 
It's the exact same that Eric miniatures has some but they are cast in urathane
I found that price several places but with shipping Amazon no shipping cost
So you got a good deal
And it's your fault showing that picture I ordered two
