I've been laying this cab control down on my layout. It almost slipped and hit the floor a few times! I want to hang it up on the side of my layout,... but how? Does anyone have an ingenious way of safely hanging up an MRC cab?

If you want a cheap and effective fix, try this. Our club uses cel phone mounts for all of our NCE throttles. The round male part goes on the back of the throttle, and every plug-in plate on the layout has 2 female fixtures, on on each side of the plate. Some members, myself included, have belt clips for holding throttles, so we can walk around the layout and have, for the most part, hands free operation.
You can get them from a lot of places, phone stores, radio shack etc. Online they are even cheaper! They do make them in 2 diameters, I would recommend the larger of the 2. Also I don't wholly trust the adhesive mounts. I take the back off of my throttles and install a very small screw with a tapered head,(making sure it wont touch anything inside the throttle) in addition to the adhesive mount. Works out to less than 2 bucks a throttle, for 1 male and 2 female fixtures.
A lot cheaper than those pockets!;)

Good ideas here ! THANKS! I would like at least 4 pockets but that gets expensive....but I will get at least two from Walthers and try your belt clips idea as well.

I believe some manufacturers sell computer mouse holders as well...
These could probably work with a bit of modification.
Model Railroader had an article on this last month, actually...

Industrial strength velcro on the throttle and layout fascia board works really well for at least one guy I know. ;)
