i have been thinking of some new ideas for my layout and i came up with
molding a 1/87 car out of alum foil i cut out the wheel arches and windows
and painted it smashed the top down and wala a junk car for my scrap yard. i also went to kmart and found a picture keychain for like 12.00 and mounted it in a building for a billboard and my last idea is to find an i phone in case it with plastic only leaving the screen to show and download a video on it. get some timber to prop it up and make it a drive in

Those are some neat ideas!
Hard to tell from the photo but the car looks like it would pass as a load if you added some more onto a flat deck.
Does the picture keychain show different images?
rico yes it does it holds like 150 pics and changes every 30 secs to 1 min.
I'll have to see if Wal-Mart has anything like that picture key-chain.
last night i done some digging on a i phone for a drive in and i realized that they were way to high for what i want to do. but i found an 3.5 inch monitor for 23.00 on ebay that i could hook to a dvd player under the table only thing is i dont know how big that really is so im going to best buy today to check it out.

Are you talking about putting an iphone right into the structure to simulate a drive in? Like right in the structure?
Im not sure if your familiar with the iphones appearance or not, i have the ipod touch, same thing as the iphone but doesnt make calls, the problem with playing video or a picture on it is as soon as you turn the ipod horizontal, it zooms out alittle bit. Not to mention that the battery is fairly short and you would have to be able to pull it out from the structure to charge. The back of an ipod touch/iphone is a shiny metal case, so itd reflect the layout lights pretty bad. My ipod was $250 dollars, $250 buys some really nice railroad scenery.
That little monitor and a DVD player would be a much better combination than an iPhone. Yuu can get tny DVD players now and you could always just set it on the floor under the layout. A 3.5 inch monitor would be about 40 scale feet, which would be about right for a drive-in screen.
