HO & O (3-rail) trainman
I see these a lot (usually with CSX on them), but have only seen one HO model (in SOU livery) at a local layout, but no one there knew who's it was or who made it. Does anyone make these now? I've checked Accurail, Atlas, Athearn, Intermountain, and Walthers, and haven't seen them.

Thanks in advance.

Walthers and Roundhouse both made waffle sides. Athearn marketed them for a year or so after they bought Roundhouse. There are a bunch of them available on e-bay in scales ranging from O to N.

I have a Walthers BN car somewhere, unless it's already gone.
Have to do some more digging!

I have a Walthers version, and an OLD Roller Bearing Models craftsman type, version. I love the Walthers car.

Athearn made one a number of years back, i have a couple of the Southern and a Wabash or two. I have a dozen or so, probably more......

Accurail, Roundhouse and AHM all made versions.

Josh, did your kit dissolve on you? I had three many years back, and one dissolved while the other two got "sticky". I got rid of them. I did get to build another one eventually and it was a nice kit for that time.

Nope, however I have not fully assembled it yet. Was it a lacquer paint issue?

No, it was a resin issue. I guess the originals were the ones with the resin problems. The one that I finally got to build years later was molded in a gray resin. All of mine were in clear resin and as I said they just dissolved away. They must have changed the formula or used a better resin.

Mine is a semi-transparent blue resin. It's primed, but I have not fully decided on the final paint. I think it'll be CSX.
