Hi Guys,

I'm trying to source some (any) models of Willys trucks or station wagons from the 1950s - 1960s (they didn't alter that much over two decades) as a very necessary addition to my current On30 layout. (See pic.)

EKO in Spain make a passable wagon in HO, and there are any number of 1:48 wartime and CJ- Jeeps around, but I'm having no luck with scale models of the larger trucks and wagons of the period.

Could anyone please assist an old Willys/rail freak?

Many thanx to all....

I'm afraid you've picked a tough one here. Corgi made some models of the Willys/Jeep station wagons from the 50's in O scale. There were also a few small companies in the 50's and 60's who made these for the Lionel market. I can find what you want in almost any scale but 1:48. :( My best suggestion is to first search Yahoo Groups for scale model Jeep collectors and see if there any leads there. E-Bay is also a decent source where some of these will show up from time to time but most are collector's items now so they won't be cheap.

Hey Jim,

That's the conclusion that I had come to as well.....they are a very rare breed indeed.

(Even in 1:1 scale, although the one in my garage is pretty cool.)

I have tried the Jeep forums, and drew a big zero there as well.

Looks like I have a scratchbuilding task ahead of me.

Many thanks.

How about military collectables? Plasic model kits are usually in 1/32. You might get lucky. My local Rite Aide has vehicles in 1/43 or so. More toy than scale, but passable for me.Didn't see a jeep.
