00 gauge, British railway, Goathland Station aka Hogwarts Station a real preservation station in England

Jaz, simply amazing! You are a true artist!

I can't believe I took so long to find this thread, thank you for sharing your masterpiece!

I'm only up to page five. I look forward to seeing the rest!

I finished looking through your work. I must admit I did not read everything. I am not a fan of weathering. I like my things shiny and new. I have neither the skill nor desire to try to do what you do. There is no need for me to "look behind the curtain" I don't want to spoil the magic of it. I love it!

It was a most enjoyable experience to say the least. I will come back repeatedly. If I look through your work a dozen more times, I still won't have noticed all the details.

There is so much variety here, from aliens to zoo animals and everything in between!

Your work is an amazing blend of realism and fantasy. Words can't describe how astonished I am or how much I enjoy looking at it!

This is the most unique work of art I have ever seen!

Thank you for sharing this, I absolutely love it!

Thank you :) As we do our layout for our own enjoyment, it only takes one of us to spark off an idea, and we jump down the rabbit hole. The other half runs the DCC and as an ex electronics guy cannot bear to let me near it, electrics is also his, hE does things like the kadees because he hates the basic ones, and he does number changing etc, he initially (he likes sharing his hobbies with me) caught me with the will you do a little garden for this cottage, then could you do a better paint job on this figure…..most of the work I have trialled has been to improve the layout for him.
We plan to do a seaside tram Blackpool and the illuminations and tower, a pier, donkeys the whole experience, he wants to do a light trick that makes the sun set, they have the first ever amusements,

I like modelling trees, different texture finishes trying to make a believable
IMG_3506.jpeg

textures, part of the wire base is shown, I popped it on to trial it then thought….they often fence around trees, so do I need to clean this up?
will there be a prototype? inevitable…ohh goody no need to tidy it up then :)
softer focus
IMG_3505.jpeg

IMG_0535.jpeg

texture ok, but leave buds not quite right

IMG_0487.jpeg

wire trunks would look better with a thicker. Covering

when used this texture for a previous tree not quite working, and yet here works better, likely more makes it less in your face
IMG_0486.jpeg

IMG_8699.jpeg

the conifer in the front was bought not made but extra texture added

IMG_1016.jpeg

finer and finer copper added, a touch fragile but once ‘bark’ added does the job

IMG_9883.jpeg

okayish looked better once leafed up

adding extra detail, in this case fungi
IMG_2837.jpeg
IMG_1338.jpeg

twisted for extra strength

Still better not photographed too close, and grouped at distance with closer eye grabbing itemd

What the...
Lol I wanted something that was not available to buy, 3D printing was not available then,so I resorted to making the wire dogs, hey make a tree with wire I just sort of extended the idea, grins

a case of I want it, and I want it NOW!

IMG_4356.jpeg

I made the ears with paper two ovals connected and draped over the head, I was chuffed with the results, even though plastercine would likely have been quicker and easier, they were usually modelled on friends dogs, one guy was travelling from Canada to UK and when I said he could have his dog,we met at a railway show, another was posted to a UK address and went missing along with the little girl I updated so I made a second pair, we often have a laugh saying that they catch they Harry Potter triple decker flying bus and move from his layout to mine :)

I like textures, the 4 pictures before all gave texture on the road, a nice clean perfect flat surface rarely looks real so I tend to go the other way lol
