Need help on weathering over CA glue

Is there any chance you can soften the CA with acetone on a Q-Tip and scrape most of it off first? Acetone will soften the CA and then you should be able to scrape a lot of it off, Just don't have the Q-Tip so saturated with the acetone that it runs off the Q-Tip. Jim

    Dremel Recommendation?

Dubro makes fiber cut off wheels, they are about 1 1/2"in diameter and last a long time as long as you let the disc do the cutting. Jim

    Self Adhesive Weathering Powders?

Have never heard of them; but in my experience any weathering, whether with powder or paint should be clear coated to help blend it in. You can get small spray bombs of Testors clear coats - just take it out on the deck or just outside and spray it. Krylon also makes different types of clear...

    Headlight circuit problems

First what size LEDs are you planning on using, then were are you getting them and do you know the working (forward voltage) of them. You're probably going to need a resistor and diode for each LED and also they will only be on in the direction they point. Let's get this out of the way then we...

    air compressor for airbrush

The only problem with them is that they don't have a reserve (air tank) so you get the pulsing in the gun from the compressor which can make for a blotchy spray pattern. Get an air compressor that at least comes with an air tank which absorbs the pulsations. Also most of the airbrush compressor...

    First weathering

I would spray it with a wash, what I used is waterproof India ink that is thinned with alcohol so that the alcohol is just darkened; spray along the bottom of the car and along the roof line with a lite coat, let it dry - about 2-3 minutes then give the whole car a spray with a very lite coat...

    air compressor for airbrush

If you're buying new get the biggest and most certainly a popular brand - Devilbis is a good one, even the Sears is better than a Harbour Freight, a Campbell/Husvarna (SP) is also good. What you want is a compressor that is powerful enough so that it doesn't run continuously when painting - in...

    Windex worked...but thinner did not

Water will work but the others mentioned seem to work better, Tamiya makes a retarder for acrylic paint that seems to work well, it allows the paint to settle (smooth out) prior to drying. About 4-5 drops per 1/8-1/4 ounce works for me. Jim

    Windex worked...but thinner did not

You can't use what we call solvents to thin any type of acrylic based paints as they (the paints) are water based. Windex is classified as a water based chemical and will mix with acrylic paints, windshield washer fluid also works and is very cheap, rubbing alcohol also works. Solvents are...
